Four Hirose Judo Academy athletes recently competed across the 2026 Brisbane International Open and Australian Open Schools Championships, each gaining valuable experience at their own stage of development.
George and Rim – U11 Champions at Both Events
George and Rim both delivered strong performances in the U11 division, winning gold at the Brisbane International Open and again at the Australian Open Schools Championships.
Winning across both events reflects the steady work they have been putting into training and their growing confidence in competition.
Sakura – Junior Gold and Senior Silver
Sakura competed at the Brisbane International Open, winning the Junior division and finishing second in the Senior division. Competing across two divisions gave her another valuable opportunity to test herself and continue building experience.
Quentin – Valuable Experience in His Second Competition
Quentin made his second judo competition appearance at the Brisbane International Open. He faced a black belt opponent in the opening round and, although he was defeated after a competitive contest, he showed clear progress and gained valuable experience.
Every competition is an important step as he continues to build confidence and develop his judo.
Congratulations to George, Rim, Sakura and Quentin. Each athlete is at a different stage of their journey, and we are proud to support their continued development.
