Hirose Judo Academy recently welcomed two Australian Youth Olympic athletes — one judoka and one taekwondo athlete — for a training session on the Gold Coast ahead of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
With the Games taking place in Dakar, Senegal, from 31 October to 13 November 2026, the session was part of the athletes’ final preparation before representing Australia on the international stage. Our academy provided a focused training environment where they could maintain their movement, timing and competition readiness before departure.
It was a pleasure to welcome athletes from two combat sports and support them during this important stage of their preparation. The visit also gave members of Hirose Judo Academy a valuable opportunity to share the mat with athletes preparing for one of the world’s leading youth sporting events.
We wish both athletes, and the entire Australian Youth Olympic Team, every success at Dakar 2026. We look forward to following their journey and supporting the continued development of young Australian athletes.
